Class size is limited to allow time for individual attention for each student. Each session includes classroom instruction as well as time to practice the techniques and receive immediate feedback.

Spring Refresher Workshop: Digital SLR and Point & Shoot
This one-day session is designed for those who have already taken a workshop with me. It will combine a refresher of concepts plus the best spring shooting I can find. Because we will emphasize flowers, some of which are small, those with closeup capability will do better. The group will meet briefly before traveling to the field at a location in north Georgia or Murphy, NC based on where people are coming from and our destination(s). A tripod is required. I will give individual feedback throughout the day and review images at the end. We will combine people into vehicles as seems appropriate. Maximum of four students. Price includes lunch and snacks. $125 per person

Photoshop Elements 6 – An In-Depth Introduction for the Photographer
This class is designed as an introduction to using Elements to prepare images for printing and print them on a photo-quality inkjet printer. At the same time it will go into sufficient depth on key Photoshop concepts to enable the student to understand what is happening and why. I think people learn best, not when they imitate specific procedures, but when they also learn the why as well as the how. This course is intended to communicate both so that students can apply that knowledge to Elements or to Photoshop CS4.

I will teach this course in my office in Murphy, NC whenever I can assemble students and match schedules. It will be limited to 2 – 4 students, depending on how their skill levels match up. A tiny class size will enable ample discussion and feedback. The class will finish up by having the student bring in their photo quality printer, on which they will print some of their own images.

You can walk through the basic course materials here.

Requirements: Elements 6 or 7 on an adequate laptop

Time Estimate: 10 hrs.
